Schloss Laubegg liegt am steil abfallenden Ausläufer einer Hügelkette und gewährt einen besonders schönen Rundblick über das Leibnitzer Feld bis zur Koralpe und bis zur nördlichen Begrenzung der Ebene, dem Wildoner Schlossberg und dem Buchkogel. Das Schloss selber ist ein Vierkantblock mit mächtigen Ecktürmen.

Durch das Portal mit dem Wappentrio und die kühle Vorhalle führt der Weg in den Innenhof. Über die geräumige Feststiege oder die venetianische Stiege gelangt man in die lange Flucht der Gänge, Zimmer und Säle. Einige Rokoko-Öfen und Stuckdecken sind der letzte Reichtum dieser Räume.

Die barocke Schlosskapelle ist das Herz des Hauses. Der Altar ist ein Werk Veit Königers. Über dem Tabernakel thront, umgeben von einem mächtigen Strahlenkranz, die altehrwürdige Statue der Mariazeller Muttergottes. 1988 wurde der Altarraum neu gestaltet und ein dem Stile der Kapelle entsprechender Volksaltar aufgestellt.

Im Jahre 2002 wurde die gesamte Liegenschaft von dem Roten Kreuz Steiermark käuflich erworben, wobei die noch verbleibenden 9 Schulbrüder (Voreigentümer) in den Räumlichkeiten des Rentamtes Unterkunft finden.
